Quality Assurance Workshops – TRAINING ARCHIVES

COLP is offering Quality Assurance (QA)  workshops as a professional development opportunity for the SU campuses Quality Assurance Leads and any faculty/staff who are supporting our QA efforts for blended and online courses. All courses are taught by SU Facilitators who are faculty and instructional designers with extensive experience and training in teaching and evaluating online courses. The Quality Matters National Certification required a $225.00 registration fee that is fully waived for SUS faculty. You will need a Complimentary Registration Key to Waive registration. Registration will prioritize online faculty from colleges and departmental units currently offering online programs.

The table below list the SUS expert workshops and national certification PD to be offered during the fall 2017 semester. Workshops may be located at different campuses within the SUS system. Please check Dates and Location before you attempt to register. For National certifications, you may need a Comp Registration to waive the associated fees.

Academic Affairs & Grants from the Louisiana Board of Regents Innovation 2017 and a Hewlett Foundation/CSU Subcontract.

Quality Assurance Course descriptions

Applying the QM Rubric: An overview of Quality Matters rubric and annotations, the research underlying the QM rubric, and the peer-review process for evaluating the quality of online course design. Participants will engage in hands-on experiences applying the QM standards to a sample course, writing helpful recommendations, and ensuring alignment between course level objectives, module level objectives, assessments, materials, activities, and tools.

Discovering Open Education Resources for Online Course Design: This workshop is a 1/2-day course that provides participants with a clear understanding of Open Education Resources (OER), Creative Commons Licensing (CC) and the search and discovery of OER from international repositories and affordable learning solution portals. It focuses on search strategies that enable participants to discover multimedia learning resources and open textbook for online course design. Participants will develop OER collections and Teaching Portfolios using the MERLOT Content Builder.
